About Mark Pratt-Russum
Mark Pratt-Russum is a portrait photographer based in Portland, Oregon. Mark stumbled upon his passion for photography in the darkroom of his high school’s photography studio in rural Pennsylvania. His early mentors praised his unique style, encouraging him to use his gentle and calm energy to photograph people. Mark found that people easily trusted him, allowing him to capture them without much need for posing, resulting in authentic images that speak to the inner spark of each person.
Mark began photographing people professionally in 2012 and has built an impressive portfolio over his decade of journeying with all kinds of people. Mark has established himself in Portland, Oregon where he is drawn to photographing the LGBTQIA+ community, including families that step outside heteronormativity.
Besides photography, Mark is a writer and spiritual mentor. He is a father of two and partnered with Beth Pratt-Russum since 2008.
